This 8 m inflatable ground arrow is intended to indicate the designated landing direction at a skydiving drop zone. Air gives the fabric shell its three-dimensional shape, while the arrowhead shows the direction set by the jump organiser. The marker can form part of the visual ground signals used at a parachute centre, training site or competition venue.

The arrow is laid horizontally in a location selected by the person responsible for jump operations. Ground staff set its direction according to local procedures. The red colour contrasts with grass, and the large outline is intended for viewing from the air. The landing arrow provides a shared directional reference for participants and supports the information given during the pre-jump briefing. Its use must be agreed before jumping begins.
